Kylie Zahner
Owner/Managing Director. BAppSc (Optom), QCH POAP. Cert Small Business.
Kylie is the proud owner of Kenmore Plaza Optometrist, and a very familiar face to all within the community, having worked in the local area for over 20 years. She has extensive experience working with families and children, and prides herself on being genuine, honest and caring. She will take her time to ensure you have a comprehensive eye health examination, using the latest technology and only prescribe what you need. Kylie has a green thumb and enjoys spending time gardening, bushwalking and having quality time with her husband and gorgeous kids.
Kylie is available for appointments on Mondays 9-5, Tuesdays 9-5, Thursdays 3-7, Fridays 9-5 and some Saturdays.
Justine Chuang
BVisSc MOptom (Dist), QCH POAP. Therapeutically endorsed.
Justine is a passionate optometrist who prides herself in providing quality care to patients of all ages. She joined Kenmore Plaza Optometrist in August 2021, and continues to work one day a week with leading ophthalmologists in Brisbane. As a local girl who grew up in the Western suburbs, she is a familiar face to many in the community. Justine listens to her patients and finds joy in making a positive difference to their lives through eye care. Outside of work, she enjoys traveling, catching up with friends, going on bush-walks, and spending time with her family and dog, Sparkles.
Justine speaks fluent English and Mandarin. She is available for appointments on Wednesdays 9-5, Thursdays 9-5, Fridays 9-5 and every second Saturday.
Kate Blackett
BOptom (Hons) TPA Endorsement, MSc (Optom).
Kate joined Kenmore Plaza Optometrist in January 2024 after moving locally to the Western suburbs from New Zealand. She is an experienced and skilled optometrist with many years of experience in private practice, undergone further study in a clinically-taught Masters in specialty contact lenses, and worked as a clinical supervisor for Optometry students at the University of Auckland. Kate is friendly and approachable, and she ensures all her patients receive a thorough examination and leave her room feeling content and well-informed.
Outside of work, you may catch Kate around our community at local schools or sporting events with her two children, on a long run or practising pilates at her local pilates studio.
Kate is available for appointments on Tuesdays 9-5, Wednesdays 9-2:30, Thursday 9-2:30 and some Saturdays.
Paula - Team Leader
Paula is our dispensing team leader and spectacle frame and lens extraordinaire. Having joined the Kenmore Plaza Optometrist team in January 2022, Paula has not only brought with her optical expertise and a passion for frames but also her infectious, joyous personality.
Paula has 30 years of experience in optical dispensing including 16 years in management for numerous optical stores in South East QLD and Northern NSW. Most recently prior to joining KPO, Paula worked for 5 years in mobile optometry helping elderly members of the community in aged care to be able to see again.
On her days off, you will find Paula spending time with her friends on the poolside with a margarita in hand, shopping for new funky earrings, or spending time with her beautiful niece and nephews.
